Oracle Lead Administrator Job Description:

The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's technological infrastructure. They will serve as the architect of the system, shaping its structure and documentation to ensure long-term success.

This administrator will configure, install, and maintain database management systems, ensuring peak performance at all times. They will manage user access, implement high standards of security to protect valuable data, and develop robust backup and recovery plans.

As a key team member, they will support end-users and application developers in solving complex database-related problems. Capacity planning and growth projections based on usage will also be a critical aspect of their responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Tune databases for optimal performance by harmonizing and synchronizing application databases
  • Identify queries causing latches, locks, or excessive resource consumption in application databases and optimize them in collaboration with scripting teams and vendors
  • Study custom query logic, verify changes, and ensure optimized queries before deployment in production environments
  • Any downtime due to improper tuning of custom query logic will be attributed to the candidate
  • Regularly study and validate invalid objects in production databases
  • Perform indexing and re-indexing of tables and objects on a regular basis

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years' experience with domain certification in database administration
  • Database administration involves monitoring health, checking database status, performing daily backups, and managing RAC environments in Oracle Database
  • Install, configure, and manage database instances, including binary installations, user management, data files, redo logs, and tablespace management
  • Apply patches released by Oracle in a timely manner
  • Implement Oracle Security products like Advanced Security Option, Oracle Audit Vault, Database Firewall, Data Vault, Data Masking, etc.
  • Add Real Application Cluster nodes to production databases as required
  • Perform performance tuning and query tuning of core banking databases
