Senior System Administrator Job

The job entails assisting in the design, maintenance, and monitoring of company infrastructure.

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a scalable server environment by deploying and configuring Azure, AWS, and Hyper-V Server environments according to industry best practices and company standards.

    • Respond to user support tickets within SLAs using ITIL principles to ensure timely resolutions and high levels of user satisfaction.

    • Configure, deploy, and maintain Active Directory services including Domain Controllers, User/Group Management, and Group Policy Administration.

    • Manage a hybrid Active Directory environment ensuring timely synchronizations between On-Premises and Cloud Infrastructure.

    • Administer Microsoft 365 services like Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and other tenant services.

    • Collaborate with the IT Security team to implement security best practices and controls ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our Infrastructure.

    • Develop and enforce regular backups and disaster recovery strategies for all Infrastructure services to ensure business continuity.

    • Maintain detailed documentation of Infrastructure services such as Asset Inventory and Software/Hardware design and implementation.

    • Generate reports on server performance, security, and compliance metrics, and other relevant reporting metrics.

    • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues early, developing effective mitigation strategies.

    • Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment adapting to changing business needs and market conditions.

    • Work independently and be a strong team player.

    • Cross-functional collaboration with Development and Operations teams to ensure infrastructure practices align with application requirements and operational needs.

    • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in system administration and drive adoption within the team.

    • Establish communication channels and processes to collaborate with the US-based IT team despite time zone differences.

    • Continuously monitor and optimize the performance capacity and availability of infrastructure components ensuring systems meet or exceed service level agreements.

    • Implement automation solutions to streamline system administration tasks reduce manual effort, and improve overall efficiency.

    • Communicate complex technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Evaluate and implement IT governance frameworks, industry standards, and compliance requirements.

    • Identify areas for improvement in the organization's infrastructure and propose solutions to enhance performance, security, and scalability.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms, virtualization, and storage technologies.

  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure, AWS, and Microsoft 365 services.

  • Familiarity with ITIL principles and incident management.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
