The Pharmacy Purchase Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the procurement process, managing relationships with vendors, and maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines. This position requires effective coordination with internal departments, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

  • Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement strategies for purchasing pharmaceuticals and consumables, focusing on cost-effectiveness, quality, and reliability.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee purchase planning based on consumption trends and stock requirements, preventing shortages or overstocking.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all procurement activities adhere to drug regulatory guidelines, hospital policies, and industry standards.
  • Financial Management: Prepare and manage purchase budgets, monitoring and controlling costs to achieve savings.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and supervise the pharmacy purchase team, collaborating with clinicians, pharmacists, and hospital administrators for requirement planning.

Qualifications & Experience: The ideal candidate should possess a degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm / M.Pharm) or a related field (MBA in Hospital or Supply Chain Management). A minimum of 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical purchasing is required, with at least 7+ years in a hospital setting (multispecialty preferred). Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, regulatory norms, and supply chain best practices is essential.
