Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our sourcing, sales, and category development efforts for a diverse portfolio of fresh produce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and execute growth plans across vegetables and fruits.
    • Track market trends, international trade flows, and customer demand patterns.
    • Define assortment strategy for each category.
  • Sales & Business Development
    • Directly drive sales of assigned categories.
    • Build strong customer relationships and close deals.
    • Recruit, train, and manage a sales team to scale with category volumes.
  • Sourcing & Supplier Development
    • Build supplier networks across regions.
    • Negotiate procurement contracts ensuring price competitiveness, quality, and supply reliability.
    • Explore import/export opportunities for off-season coverage.
  • Operations & Supply Chain
    • Align with procurement and operations for efficient sourcing and logistics.
    • Optimize farm-to-customer movement, minimizing wastage and cost.
    • Ensure freshness and availability across the portfolio.
  • Financial & Performance Management
    • Own the financial performance of assigned categories—managing revenues, margins, and working capital.
    • Monitor SKU profitability, wastage levels, and demand-supply alignment.
    • Generate regular performance dashboards highlighting risks and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of fresh produce value chains.
  • Hands-on sales experience with ability to close deals and grow revenues.
  • Negotiation and vendor management expertise.
  • Analytical skills to track market trends and category economics.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, sales, and finance.
  • Entrepreneurial and execution-focused mindset.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Supply Chain, or MBA (preferred).
  • 6–10 years of experience in F&V category management, commodity sourcing, or modern trade supply chains.
  • Prior exposure to staples and fruits will be a strong advantage.
