As a Desktop Support Specialist at GEEKAY INFOTECH, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our desktop systems. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting desktop, laptop, and printer issues, as well as facilitating server or network-related problems with the core team and principle vendors.
The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of ticket processes and SLAs, as well as incident/service request management. Additionally, they should be proficient in resolving desktop system issues, including those related to Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, and Networking.
You will also be responsible for assembling computers, maintaining company peripheral desktop and network devices, creating user profiles for customized desktop settings, and performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal functionality across departments.
To succeed in this role, you must be skilled in using helpdesk systems to prioritize workload and update queries and calls. Familiarity with applications such as MS Office 2000/XP, MS Projects, and MS Outlook is essential, as is the ability to identify and suggest possible improvements to processes and procedures.
