Accounting Director

This leadership role oversees the entire accounts and finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management, and strategic planning.

  1. Financial Management & Strategy:
  • Develops and implements effective financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Crafts strategies to optimize cost, improve margins, and enhance profitability.
  • Maintains ongoing monitoring of financial performance against business goals and provides insights for decision-making.
  1. Accounts & Reporting:
  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Manages day-to-day accounting operations and oversees the performance of the accounting team.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant financial reporting standards.
  1. Compliance & Audit:
  • Evaluates and ensures compliance with statutory requirements including GST, Income Tax, TDS, ROC filings, and other applicable laws.
  • Liaises with auditors and stakeholders to ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Remains up-to-date with regulatory changes impacting the manufacturing sector.
  1. Treasury & Working Capital Management:
  • Effectively manages cash flows, banking operations, and fund utilization.
  • Oversees working capital management, credit control, and debtor management.
  • Negotiates strong relationships with banks and financial institutions for funding and project financing.
  1. Cost Control & MIS:
  • Establishes and monitors effective cost accounting systems.
  • Develops and presents periodic reports to management for tracking financial performance.
  • Provides financial analysis to support business units in pricing, costing, and investment decisions.
  1. Team Leadership & Development:
  • Leads, mentors, and develops the accounts and finance team.
  • Establishes strong internal controls and processes across the department.
  • Fosters a culture of integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • 8 - 15 years of experience post CA qualification in Accounts & Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in manufacturing (preferably metals/steel sector).
  • Strong expertise in financial reporting, statutory compliance, cost control, and treasury management.
  • Proven track record in handling audits, liaison with banks, and managing working capital.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
