About the Role

The Senior Technical Writer plays a pivotal role in developing instructional content and overseeing projects across various systems.

This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their needs in developing and maintaining documentation that meets established quality metrics.

Maintaining a library of documentation and cataloging it for internal and/or external use are also critical responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-quality technical documentation for customers, technical staff, managers, executives, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Restructure information for a better approach to problems or tasks.
  • Break down complex information into accessible concepts suitable for the audience.
  • Represent information in visual/graphical forms that augment textual descriptions.
  • Proficiency in common Microsoft Office software (mainly Word).
  • Attention to detail is crucial in this role.
  • Prioritizing and executing tasks in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Able to multi-task and be a self-starter.
  • Thorough knowledge of the English language including grammar, spelling, and usage.
  • Engaging with individuals and groups to understand their needs and gathering pertinent content.
  • Negotiating technical and end-user documentation priorities and resolving conflicts among project stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, or a related field.
Key Skills:
  • Documenting instructions for software/development/related processes.
  • Project management skills, such as organizing multiple documentation projects to keep them on schedule.
  • Using graphics/illustration software.
