Network Documentation Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to create and implement a structured documentation framework within Confluence for our network across multiple sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your expertise in network documentation and collaboration. As a Network Documentation Specialist, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation for our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive structured conventions framework for documenting network details in Confluence, including site-specific as-built diagrams, contacts, and network configurations.
  • Create standardized templates for site documentation, runbooks, and design guidelines to ensure consistency and ease of access.
  • Collaborate with the network team to gather data, understand site-specific details, and accurately represent the current network state.
  • Pilot the documentation process on a subset of sites, serving as an example and training model for the team to follow for remaining and new sites.
  • Develop training materials and conduct sessions to ensure smooth adoption of the new documentation structure.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with network documentation and designing structured documentation frameworks.
  • Expertise using Confluence as a documentation platform.
  • Familiarity with Lucid chart or similar diagramming tools for network design templates.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical teams and gather site data.
  • Ability to create clear, consistent documentation and templates that are easy to maintain and update.
