Lead Farm Operations Specialist

We seek a strategic leader to oversee our farm program, ensuring successful day-to-day operations and alignment with goals.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing teams and building strong relationships with farmers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight:
    • Team management: Manage 3+ Program Associates.
    • Project coordination: Supervise the implementation of field protocols and experiments.
    • Data review: Ensure timely and accurate data entry by team members.
    • Audit control: Conduct audits and quality control to ensure adherence to protocols.
  • Farmer Engagement:
    • Relationship building: Build and maintain relationships with ARA farmers.
    • Farm information maintenance: Obtain stocking, harvest, and other farm information at timely intervals and update our records accordingly.
    • Field presence: Spend 50%+ of your time in the field engaging with staff, farmers, and stakeholders.
  • Scaling and Strategic Assistance:
    • Field insights: Provide input during strategic meetings with leadership.
    • Expansion planning: Lead the process of enrolling new farms in the ARA.

Requirements:

  • Nationality: Eligibility to work in India is required.
  • Experience with field programs: At least one year of experience managing field programs in development, environmental protection, or animal welfare sectors.
  • Language: Fluent Telugu and English communication skills.
  • Location: Full-time presence in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh is mandatory. Frequent field travel to surrounding villages is expected.
  • Transportation: Ability to drive a motorbike on rural roads.

Ideal Criteria:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Social Sciences, or related sciences.
  • Technical expertise: Previous experience with water quality analysis and management in aquaculture.
