We are seeking an expert Azure DBA Lead to oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft SQL Server databases within the Azure cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of data for various applications
  • Provision, configure, and manage Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines
  • Design, implement, and monitor HA/DR strategies such as Always On Availability Groups, geo-replication, and failover groups
  • Plan and execute robust backup and restore operations, validate recovery procedures, and ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
  • Monitor database performance using Azure Monitor, SQL Insights, and Query Store, identify and resolve bottlenecks by optimizing queries, indexes, and resource allocation
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of experience working on Azure MS-SQL databases
  • Lead administration experience with single-point responsibility for all Azure and on-prem MS-SQL Database and Cloud Admin activities
  • Hands-on experience with managing Oracle OCI or Azure VM, network, and security
  • Experience with SQL server upgrade and migration to Azure
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
