Job Role: Corporate Tax Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth reviews of corporate and partnership returns, including complex operating partnerships.
  • Oversee the preparation of corporate and partnership tax returns for federal and state jurisdictions.
  • Resolve queries related to potential tax adjustments due to changes in tax laws.
  • Identify international filing requirements through organizational chart studies and review international tax returns.
  • Train staff on concepts and technology, providing timely feedback on projects reviewed.
  • Supervise kick-off meetings with US counterparts, intervening in budget conflicts and resource scheduling issues.
  • Guide teams on e-file validation to prevent rejects and errors.
  • Manage and coach professionals for career growth.
  • Ensure quality and turnaround of returns for aligned offices/niches.
  • Provide regular feedback and motivate teams during tax seasons.
  • Maintain correspondence with US points of contact for seamless process flow and regularly touch-base with schedulers to keep teams occupied and informed about return statuses.
  • Execute assignments effectively, delegating tasks appropriately and monitoring work progress.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience with U.S. accounting firms.
  • EA/CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of U.S. Tax Code is beneficial.
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal communication.
  • Strong commitment to an entrepreneurial work ethic.
  • At least 5 years of leading multiple engagements and supervising staff.
  • Ability to analyze and prioritize information to make recommendations.
  • Competence in working on multiple engagements simultaneously and communicating as a team with domestic engagement teams.
  • Education: B. Com or M. Com. Or MBA Finance or CA Inter.
