Job Title: Principal Legal Counsel

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Legal Professional with expertise in Corporate Compliance, Investigations, and Remediation to join our team as a Principal Legal Counsel. This role will play a key part in advising on corporate compliance programs, handling global investigations, and developing policies to enhance our whistleblower program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Implement Whistleblower Program: Develop and execute an effective Infosys Whistleblower Program with global reach, comprised of seven pillars for efficient corporate compliance.
  2. Investigations and Remediation: Conduct thorough investigations, negotiate and implement remediations, and achieve corporate compliance operational objectives.
  3. Compliance and Regulatory Regimes: Provide exposure and understanding of key compliance and regulatory regimes applicable to Infosys, including Whistleblower Regulations, Anti-Bribery - Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Confidentiality, and commensurate process and controls.
  4. Analytics and Automation: Utilize Analytics and Automation to conduct risk evaluation and mitigation, which would be an added benefit but not a prerequisite.
  5. Training and Communications: Plan, organize, and conduct trainings and communications to enhance and grow the whistleblower program in line with best industry standards of cultural assurance.
  6. New Regulations and Laws: Interpret new regulations and laws by reviewing and analyzing proposed and adopted state legislation and regulations.
  7. Policy Administration: Derive policy administration, trainings, and regular communications to effectively handle complaints and investigations.
  8. Collaboration and Advice: Collaborate with various functions like facilities & infra, govt. relations, finance & HR, and sales & delivery functions to assist in Infosys expansion agenda, and advise on public policy working closely with the Govt. relations team.
  9. Legal Support: Supports company positions by developing company responses and defenses to complaints, investigations, and administrative proceedings.

Qualifications:

  • A qualified lawyer with minimum JD along with relevant experience as compliance counsel.
  • An additional qualification such as CA/CFA will be preferred.

Required Skills:

  1. Extensive report development experience and policy and procedure development experience in a multinational environment with cultural and ethnic diversity;
  2. An interest in using technology for efficient program implementation;
  3. Analytical skills relating to business processes, business data, and interpersonal relations;
  4. Experience in public speaking and business presentation;
  5. Knowledge of IT industry regulatory standards, including Anti-Corruption, Anti-Trust, Trade Controls, etc.
  6. Independent project management skills;
  7. Excellent analytical and communication skills;
  8. Aptitude for innovative approaches;
  9. Change management skills;
