Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and design of robotic products, from concept to production.
  • Mentor a high-performing mechanical design team, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
  • Utilize SolidWorks for 3D modeling, motion studies, assembly design, and detailing.
  • Prepare manufacturing-ready drawings, including GD&T, BOMs, and tolerance stack-up.
  • Optimize product design for manufacturability, focusing on sheet metal, cable routing, and assembly efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including CTOs, vendors, and manufacturing experts, to drive project execution.
  • Lead R&D initiatives, contributing to patent filings and intellectual property development.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 6–12 years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, or related fields.
  • Deep expertise in SolidWorks, including motion study, GD&T application, assembly design, and detailing.
  • A proven track record of leading product development from concept to manufacturing in the industrial domain.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication techniques, including sheet metal design, cable routing, and machined parts integration.
  • Hands-on experience in preparing detailed BOMs, tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFA.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with a history of building and mentoring high-performance teams.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of patent documentation and IP filing processes is beneficial.
