Senior Airfield Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Airfield Design Manager to lead our aviation team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional to enhance and grow the team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering airfield civil engineering design and maintenance projects through various stages of design from feasibility/option studies to detailed design and onto construction for clients in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver airfield infrastructure projects at airports.
  • Manage a team of engineers and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications related to airfield engineering projects.
  • Participate in technical design reviews to meet quality management requirements.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate designs with team members, industry associates, and clients.
  • Identify and manage design risks, issues, and Request for Information (RFIs).
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have sound technical abilities and a strong track record of managing complex airport projects.

They should have experience working on large, technically complex multi-disciplinary airport projects from concept through to detailed design and construction support.

Essential Requirements:
  • 10 years of experience in civil engineering design at airports.
  • Strong knowledge of ICAO and FAA international airfield design standards.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant airfield engineering design software packages.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Status (MICE, MCIHT) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
