We are seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Commercial Manager at sea-and-beyond.

Job Overview:

This is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing the chartering of owned vessels, developing commercial strategies, and ensuring profitable employment of the fleet.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Chartering Activities: Manage chartering activities for owned bulk carriers, including spot, time charter, and contract fixtures.
  • Cargo and Employment Opportunities: Liaise with brokers, charterers, and operators to identify and secure cargoes and employment opportunities.
  • Negotiation and Documentation: Negotiate charter party terms and oversee the preparation of post-fixture documentation.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market movements, freight indices, and competitor activities to support commercial decisions.
  • Contract Execution: Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as operations, technical, and legal teams to ensure seamless contract execution.
  • Voyage Performance: Analyze voyage results, evaluate profitability, and contribute to performance and market reporting.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive records of fixtures, voyage outcomes, and client interactions.
  • Business Development: Provide market insights and feedback to senior management for strategic planning.
Qualifications:
  • Open to both mariners (any rank) with relevant commercial experience and non-mariners with proven chartering/business development expertise.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial shipping or vessel chartering, with exposure to bulk carriers.

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of the maritime industry.
