Job Opportunity

The position of Java Backend Developer is a key role in our team, requiring the ability to analyze and elaborate user stories, design and develop responsive web applications using best engineering practices.

This role involves hands-on software development, typically spending most time writing code and unit tests, conducting proof of concepts, code reviews, and testing in ongoing sprints.

A successful candidate will have a solid understanding of distributed systems, experience building scalable web applications using Java, and expertise in frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate.

Key responsibilities include managing one's own time, working well both independently and as part of a team, and collaborating with product managers, backend and frontend engineers to implement versatile solutions to tricky web development problems.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent
  • 3-4 years of work experience
  • 5-7 years of experience working in Java and demonstrating good Java knowledge
  • Good attitude, communication, willingness to learn and collaborate
  • 5 years of development experience in developing Java applications in an enterprise setting
  • Experience working with Java 11 and above is a plus
  • Experience developing Java applications in frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, Dropwizard is a plus
  • 2-3 years recent experience working in JavaScript on Node.js stack is a plus
  • 3 years of experience with Test Driven Development (TDD), Behavior Driven Development (BDD) practices, unit testing, functional testing, system integration testing, regression testing, GUI testing, web service testing, and browser compatibility testing including frameworks such as Selenium, WebDriverIO, Cucumber, JUnit, Mockito
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery environment
  • 3-4 years working in an Agile or SAFe development environment
