Job Title: Senior Hadoop Administration Specialist

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and administer Cloudera clusters, ensuring optimal performance and stability.
  • Perform upgrades, patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning for CDH and CDP environments.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot services such as HDFS, Hive, Impala, HBase, Spark, YARN, and Oozie.
  • Manage security configurations, including Kerberos authentication and Ranger access control policies.
  • Administer the Kafka ecosystem, focusing on Kafka broker, Zookeeper, producer, and consumer configurations.
  • Manage Kafka topics, partitions, and replication factors to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Monitor Kafka performance and optimize producer and consumer setups.
  • Automate administrative tasks using scripts and languages like Shell and Python.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, DevOps, and Security teams to enhance platform capabilities and resolve issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in Hadoop and Cloudera administration.
  • Deep knowledge of Cloudera Manager and CDH/CDP platform management and services optimization.
  • Advanced skills in Kafka producer and consumer configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong background in security setup using Kerberos and Ranger.
  • Expertise in Linux system administration and scripting.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Cloudera Manager, Grafana, and Prometheus.
