Vertex Tax Management Expert Wanted

We are seeking a skilled tax expert to provide comprehensive support for Vertex tax management systems and their integration with ERP platforms.

  1. Apply expertise in Indirect Taxation including Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST, and Withholding Tax across different jurisdictions
  2. Maintain and troubleshoot Vertex Tax Calculation Rules, Tax Jurisdictions, and Product Taxability Assignments
  3. Support ERP integrations with Vertex (e.g., Oracle Fusion and internal systems)

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of indirect taxation, experience with Vertex tax systems and ERP integrations, and proficiency in SQL and data analysis. They should also be able to troubleshoot API integrations and data feeds, understand tax compliance reporting requirements, and have familiarity with SOX audit requirements for tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Functional Support
    1. Apply expertise in Indirect Taxation including Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST, and Withholding Tax across different jurisdictions
    2. Maintain and troubleshoot Vertex Tax Calculation Rules, Tax Jurisdictions, and Product Taxability Assignments
    3. Support ERP integrations with Vertex (e.g., Oracle Fusion and internal systems)
  2. Technical Operations
    1. Perform SQL & Data Analysis by querying ERP and Vertex databases for tax calculations, transaction history, and reconciliation
    2. Troubleshoot ERP-Vertex integration issues including debugging tax calculation problems, missing tax rates, and incorrect invoice tax postings
    3. Maintain API Data Feeds including Vertex API calls, REST/SOAP integrations, and data flow between Vertex and ERP systems
  3. Compliance & Reporting
    1. Support Tax Reporting for Compliance (Sales & Use Tax, VAT/GST Returns, Withholding Tax Reports, 1099/1042 forms, etc.)
    2. Assist in SOX Audits, ensuring controls, documentation, and approvals are in place for tax processes
  4. Operational Support
    1. Utilize Vertex Support Website (MyVertex) for issue resolution
    2. Create and manage support tickets
    3. Access Vertex Knowledge Base, Release Notes, and Patches

The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, be able to document and communicate technical solutions effectively, and have a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
