Network Engineering Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our team. This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Design and Implementation: Design, implement, and maintain large-scale enterprise networks using Cisco equipment.
  • Equipment Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure and troubleshoot network equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
  • Network Maintenance: Maintain knowledge of network vendor technologies and associated software.
  • Technical Administration: Engage in technical administration of Cisco network equipment, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other teams to install and configure voice gateways, integrated services routers, and other infrastructure equipment.
  • Circuit Configuration and Troubleshooting: Work with carriers to configure and troubleshoot Internet, MPLS, SD-WAN, and other WAN circuits and equipment.
  • Documentation and Process Improvement: Develop and maintain network documentation to ensure accurate records and facilitate future maintenance. Participate in Agile/Scrum process for the IT systems team, contributing to the development of new features and improvements.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain relationships with key contacts outside of own area of expertise, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
  • Root Cause Analysis and SOP Development: Responsible for providing root cause analysis for outages, and delivering SOPs to improve network reliability.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field of study.
  • Technical Experience: Minimum eight (8) years of experience with Cisco routers/switches/routing protocols and other network equipment.
  • Cisco Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional certification required; Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert certification is preferred.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience implementing Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA Center. Experience with SD-WAN, SDN, and cloud-based environments, such as VMware, Docker, and AWS, is preferred.
