Job Overview

The Security Operations Centre (SOC) plays a crucial role in safeguarding digital assets from unauthorized access, identifying security incidents, and reporting to stakeholders for both online and on-premises environments. As a SOC Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to security events from managed customer security systems as part of a team on a rotating 24x7 basis.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Incident Response: Respond to critical attacks escalated from Tier 1, assess the scope of the attack, and affected systems, and collect data for further analysis.
  2. Weakness Identification: Work proactively to seek out vulnerabilities and stealthy attackers, review vulnerability assessments (CVEs) on monitored assets, and focus on doing deep dives into datasets to understand what's happening during and after attacks.
  3. Security Event Monitoring: Monitor security events from various SOC entry channels (SIEM, Tickets, Email, and Phone), based on the security event severity and suspicious activities, escalate to managed service support teams, Tier 3 information security specialists, and/or customers as appropriate to perform further investigation and resolution.
  4. Team Lead: Works as a Team lead for the SOC Analysts helping them to ensure that corporate data and technology platform components are safeguarded from known threats.
  5. Root Cause Analysis: Analyze the Events & Incidents and identify the root cause.
  6. SIEM Management: Assist in keeping the SIEM platform up to date and contribute to security strategies as new threats emerge.
  7. Emerging Threats: Stay up to date with emerging security threats including applicable regulatory security requirements.
  8. SOC Process Enhancement: Bring enhancements to SOC security process, procedures, and policies.
  9. Documentation: Document and maintain customer build documents, security procedures, and processes.
  10. Incident Documentation: Document incidents to contribute to incident response and disaster recovery plans.
  11. Reporting: Review critical incident reports and scheduled weekly & monthly reports and make sure they are technically and grammatically accurate.
