Job Description

Technical Buyer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely supply of technical spare parts, ship repair jobs, and annual services. This includes liaising with superintendents to guarantee seamless logistics arrangements.

Purchasing activities for Technical Buyer encompass arranging logistics for spare part delivery to vessels. The candidate must send inquiries to suppliers worldwide for quotations on various services including navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, hull cleaning, and technical spare parts bulk purchase.

The successful candidate will communicate with vessels regarding requisition information, follow up with supplier quotations, prepare purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, and packing lists. They will also assist in logistics arrangements, including air freight, sea freight, land transport, and sea transport.

Liaising with agents and ships to supply spare parts and repair services at convenient ports is an essential responsibility of this role. Additionally, the Technical Buyer will process invoices by verifying vendor invoices against quotations and ensuring timely payment within credit terms. Document filing and printing of invoices are also key tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with superintendents to ensure timely supply of technical spare parts, ship repair jobs, and annual services.
  • Purchasing activities include arranging logistics for spare part delivery to vessels.
  • Send inquiries to suppliers worldwide for quotations on annual, bi-annual, 5-yearly, and 10-yearly services for navigation equipment, FFA & LSA, underwater inspections, hull cleaning, and technical spare parts bulk purchase.
  • Communicate with vessels regarding requisition information.
  • Follow up with supplier quotations.
  • Prepare purchase orders, delivery orders, proforma invoices, and packing lists.
  • Assist in logistics arrangements, including air freight, sea freight, land transport, and sea transport.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in spares stores services and technical purchasing.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.
