System Administrator Role Overview

As a System Administrator, you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of Red Hat OpenShift clusters. Your primary goal will be to ensure high availability and disaster recovery of these clusters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cluster Management: Install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Perform regular upgrades and patching of OCP environments.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery of OCP clusters.

Support & Troubleshooting: Provide support for incidents and problems related to OpenShift. Troubleshoot complex issues and perform root cause analysis. Collaborate with other teams to resolve platform-related issues.

Performance & Optimization: Monitor and optimize the performance of OCP clusters. Implement best practices for resource allocation and management. Conduct capacity planning and scaling of OCP environments.

Security & Compliance: Implement security policies and ensure compliance with organizational standards. Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Manage access controls and authentication mechanisms.

Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine tasks and deployments. Utilize tools like Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automation. Ensure infrastructure as code (IaC) practices are followed.

Documentation & Training: Create and maintain detailed documentation of the OCP environment and processes. Provide training and mentorship to junior administrators and other team members. Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and technical workshops.
