Database Management Expert

As a highly skilled Database Management Expert, you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining our enterprise database systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: Ensure high availability and performance of Intersystems IRIS/Cache(Ensemble) systems.
  • Security and Access Control: Implement security best practices and access control policies to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Capacity Planning and Performance Tuning: Monitor and analyze database performance to optimize capacity and reduce downtime.
  • Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans to minimize data loss.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Implementing Reporting/Mirroring: Set up reporting and mirroring solutions to improve data visibility and accessibility.
  • IRIS Installation and Upgrades: Install, upgrade, and patch IRIS databases to ensure they are running with the latest features and fixes.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve complex database issues to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  • Database Maintenance: Manage and maintain database maintenance solutions to ensure smooth operation and optimal performance.
  • Monitoring and Support Tools: Implement monitoring and support tools to enhance database management and troubleshooting capabilities.

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Strong Technical Skills: Proficiency in database development, administration, and maintenance.
  • Experience with Intersystems IRIS/Cache(Ensemble): In-depth knowledge of IRIS/Cache(Ensemble) architecture, features, and best practices.
  • Understanding of Database Design and Data Modeling: Familiarity with database design principles and data modeling techniques.
  • Integration Experience: Experience integrating IRIS with ETL/BI software, ticketing systems (ServiceNow), and release management systems (Azure DevOps).
  • Azure and Agile Knowledge: Understanding of Azure cloud services and Agile development methodologies.
