Scrap Metal Procurement Specialist

We seek an accomplished Scrap Metal Trader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of hands-on experience in the scrap metal trading industry, with a proven track record of success in sourcing, negotiating, and closing deals. This role demands a deep understanding of market trends, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing: Identify and source scrap metal from various suppliers, including industrial manufacturers, demolition companies, and recycling facilities.
- Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms and pricing with suppliers and buyers to maximize profitability and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sales: Develop and maintain relationships with existing clients while actively seeking out new business opportunities to expand market share.
- Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes affecting the scrap metal industry to inform decision-making and strategy.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate the transportation and logistics of scrap metal shipments, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with safety regulations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and environmental standards governing the scrap metal trading industry.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in scrap metal trading, with a strong network of industry contacts.
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish long-term relationships with clients and suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of market dynamics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with trading software and platforms.
