Job Title: Data Network Professional

Network Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of all data network activities at the primary site and disaster recovery location involves installation, upgrade, migration, incident management, performance enhancement, reporting, and patching.
  • Familiarity with switching, routing, and network equipment is essential.
  • Experience in implementing Leaf & Spine Architecture in data centre environments is advantageous.
  • Skilled in monitoring networks using tools such as Cisco IOS, PRTG, NetFlow, etc.
  • Large-scale data centre networks have been successfully managed.
  • Manage configuration changes of switches/routers when necessary and perform regular backups of configurations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 protocols, including VLANs, Private VLANS, VTP, STP, DTP, Trunking, Stacking, Ethernet channel, DOT1Q, ISL, SVI, etc.
  • IPSEC tunnels between locations are configured.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 3 protocols, including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Static Routing, High Availability Protocols (HSRP, VRRP, GLBP), Floating Static Routing, Failover, etc.
  • Support for IPv4, IPv6, NTP, ACLs, Route-map, Prefix-Lists, PBR, AAA, TACAS, RADIUS, CEF, IPv6 CEF, SLA, TRACK, SNMP, EEM, Syslog, Flow-export, RADIO, EVPN-VXLAN is provided.
  • Network Load Balancers, Datacentre core switching, and routing upgrades & maintenance are configured and troubleshot.
  • Router access control management is performed.
  • Routers and switches are fault-managed.
  • Corrective actions are taken to resolve faults and ensure high network uptime.
  • Problems are identified and debugged through troubleshooting and analysis.
  • Metric deployment enables early identification of potential issues and their resolution if required.
  • Optimal network availability is ensured through periodic fine-tuning.
  • The proper functioning of the network and deployed assets is regularly checked.
  • EMS tool expertise is maintained.
  • Investigate network issues at DR sites in liaison with DR team members.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Expert knowledge of network infrastructure components, network protocols, and network architectures.
  • Understanding of networking technologies, including routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with operating systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud computing environments.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices, network security appliances, and other network-related hardware.
  • Ability to analyze complex network problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Professional certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE, are preferred.
