Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer

This role provides high-quality IT infrastructure support to ensure the availability, stability and performance of datacentres, platforms and corporate systems.

Responsibilities include managing AIX servers, SAN and storage array management, backup, replication, HA and recovery technologies, AIX server security management and hardware maintenance.

The team are responsible for the administration and management of all development, UAT, pre-production, production and DR environments as well as internal corporate IT systems.

Key objectives include ensuring uptime SLA's are met every month by managing and resolving issues logs; performing scheduled maintenance to minimise disruption; monitoring system performance, capacity and growth; suggesting and implementing performance improvements and hardware/software refreshes.

Implementing security projects, completing risk assessments and build guides for new and existing systems; ensuring regular backups are made and tested; participating in yearly BCP & DR tests; ensuring that any new build is in line with company requirements and departmental policy for resilience and availability.

Developing professional and technical knowledge and skills; providing technical advice and mentoring within the team; implementing new projects to meet project timelines and deadlines.

Required Skills:
  • AIX operating system administration skills.
  • Knowledge of automation scripting.
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of latest server and storage technologies.
  • Successfully implemented Infrastructure projects.
  • Good team player with the ability to work independently and able to take initiative, drive change and new technologies and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Passionate about providing an excellent service experience for our clients.
