Senior Engineering Director

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to drive the strategy and execution of our platform organization. This role will oversee core infrastructure, developer experience, data platforms, and frontend frameworks that power large-scale SaaS products across global markets.

The ideal candidate is a builder at heart, a people-first leader, and a trusted partner to product and executive teams.

  • Platform Roadmap & Strategy: Define and communicate a 12–18 month vision for the platform organization, aligning technical direction with business priorities.
  • Frontend Enablement: Establish frameworks and shared component libraries to accelerate development in modern stacks (TypeScript, Node). Reduce friction for engineers by automating boilerplate and ensuring consistent quality.
  • Data Platform & Compliance: Build unified approaches for ingestion, governance, observability, and schema validation across multiple data stores. Architect and implement data-residency models that satisfy global regulations.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud Operations: Lead ownership of Kubernetes clusters, networking, IaC (Terraform, Helm), and cloud security. Drive initiatives for resilience, cost optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Developer Experience & Reliability: Champion robust CI/CD pipelines, progressive rollout practices, fault-injection testing, and end-to-end observability standards.
  • Security & Compliance: Partner with InfoSec and Legal teams to integrate controls for SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and other regional frameworks.
  • Leadership & Culture: Grow and mentor engineers across platform, infrastructure, and data domains. Foster a culture of trust, ownership, and inclusion while holding a high bar for technical excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Translate technical health metrics into business outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years leading platform, infrastructure, or SRE teams in high-scale SaaS environments
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes and a major cloud provider
  • Strong technical grounding in TypeScript/Node.js, container orchestration, IaC, service meshes, and event-driven systems
  • Proven ability to design and deliver multi-region or data-residency compliant architectures
  • Track record of implementing CI/CD, observability, contract testing, and reliability practices
  • Comfort working in regulated industries with SOC 2, HIPAA, or equivalent standards
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills; able to influence from C-suite conversations down to technical design reviews
