Lead Data Scientist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a passion for innovating and developing machine learning and data analytics solutions to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analytics and Machine Learning: Design, build, and implement process automation for HERE Core Map processes employing scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning algorithms.
  • Analytics Model Development: Build and test analytic models to improve internal data-driven processes for map-making decisions and system control needs.
  • Data Mining Expertise: Function as an expert in data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis to drive business outcomes.
  • Predictive Modeling Lead: Act as a predictive modeling lead on Core Map projects, providing strategic guidance and technical expertise.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: MS or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Econometrics with emphasis on computational statistics/science/engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization.
  • Professional Experience: 7+ years related professional experience.
  • Data Skills: Data mining and analytic methods such as regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, Bayesian network analysis.
  • Programming Languages: Statistical analysis package and scripting language like Python, R, Matlab, SAS.
  • Big Data Tools: Hadoop and/or Spark tools for big data extraction and preparation.
  • Communication Skills: Experience interacting with customer executives, technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership Skills: Proficiency in specifying and explaining predictive modeling solutions and organizing teams of data scientists and engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Development Experience: Development experience with Scala, Docker, GIS data, and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
