Building Services Design Specialist

The Building Services Design Specialist plays a pivotal role in the design and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health (MEP) services by preparing accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models.


Main Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical, electrical, and public health systems in AutoCAD and/or Revit (BIM).
  • Collaborate with MEP Engineers and Designers to translate design concepts into coordinated drawings.
  • Evaluate drawings for compliance with project requirements, building regulations, industry standards, and company CAD/BIM protocols.
  • Support the development of coordinated services drawings, clash detection, and model updates.
  • Maintain drawing registers, file management systems, and revision control.
  • Contribute to producing tender, construction, and as-built drawings.

Key Qualifications & Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential) and Revit MEP/BIM (preferred).
  • Experience in preparing MEP drawings and understanding of building services design principles.
  • Familiarity with British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry codes of practice.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
