Bus Manufacturing Leadership Opportunity

A senior leadership role is available in the Electric Vehicle - Bus manufacturing sector.

Job Description:

This critical position involves overseeing the end-to-end production process of bus body structures, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality standards, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory norms.

  • Production Planning & Execution:
  • Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators such as Jobs Per Hour, Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and downtime.

Quality Assurance-

  • Ensure adherence to dimensional accuracy, fit & finish, and welding standards.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to resolve line-level quality issues.

Process Improvement-

  • Lead Kaizen, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Reduce non-value-added activities and improve line balancing.

Team Leadership-

  • Manage and mentor production supervisors and line staff.
  • Conduct skill gap analysis and organize training programs.

New Product Integration-

  • Coordinate with Research and Development and technical services for new model launches.
  • Ensure station readiness and compliance with pre-launch checklists.

Inventory & Material Coordination-

  • Liaise with supply chain and warehousing for timely material availability.
  • Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess stock or shortages.

Qualifications & Experience-

  • Education Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering.
  • 15-20 years of experience in automotive production.
  • Domain Expertise Bus/Coach Body Building, BIW, Assembly, EV.

Desirable Skills-

  • Strong understanding of bus body structure design and manufacturing.
  • Leadership and team management, Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Certifications (Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, ISO/TS).
