Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our large-scale data systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, with expertise in designing, building, and operating complex data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable data processing systems using Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and other related technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and design data solutions that meet those needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data systems, including architecture diagrams, technical guides, and operational procedures.
  • Troubleshoot issues in data systems, working closely with developers, operators, and other stakeholders to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating new ideas and best practices into our data systems.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on designing and implementing large-scale data systems.
  • Expertise in Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and other related technologies, including Confluent, AWS MSK, and Hadoop Ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix Systems, Windows Server, and shell/Python scripting.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Terraform, and GitOps, as well as CI/CD tools like GitLab and Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Dynatrace, as well as Atlassian stack (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers, operators, and other stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with IBM MQ / RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and ServiceNow.
  • Strong knowledge of security, availability, scalability, and fault tolerance principles.
