Backend Engineer Role

Job Description: We are seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer to spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services and robust REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design, with proven experience in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Scale: Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend services and robust REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Data Driven: Optimize and manage our MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, focusing on performance, schema design, and query tuning.
  • Architect for Reliability: Work with AWS SQS to build asynchronous, event-driven workflows that ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Lead & Mentor: Conduct thorough code reviews, enforce coding standards, and help guide junior engineers.
  • Drive the Lifecycle: Take end-to-end ownership of features—from gathering requirements and design to deployment and monitoring.
  • Collaborate: Partner with cross-functional teams, including frontend and product, to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions.

Requirements:

  • Strong Foundation: Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed system design.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
  • Database Master: Proficiency in SQL performance tuning and database optimization.
  • Cloud Savvy: Hands-on experience with AWS SQS or other messaging queues.
  • Problem Solver: Demonstrated ability to own and drive projects from concept to completion.
  • Excellent Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
