Job Overview

The position of Financial Controller will be responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across multiple global entities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consolidation & Reporting:
    • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements under GAAP.
    • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
    • Coordinate with accountants to ensure completeness and correctness of financial data prior to consolidation.
    • Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency translation processes.
    • Deliver high-quality management reporting packs for senior leadership.
  • Acquisition Accounting:
    • Lead accounting for business combinations in accordance with GAAP, including purchase price allocation and recognition of goodwill.
    • Ensure accurate recording of acquisition-related transactions.
    • Support post-acquisition integration, aligning newly acquired entities with group accounting policies.
    • Monitor performance of acquired businesses against acquisition models and integration plans.
  • Audit & Compliance:
    • Act as primary point of contact for auditors during statutory audits.
    • Ensure compliance with audit requirements across jurisdictions.
    • Monitor adherence to group accounting policies and internal control procedures.
  • Technical Accounting:
    • Provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters.
    • Maintain and update group accounting manuals and policies.
    • Evaluate and resolve complex accounting treatments for unusual transactions or new business activities.
  • Tax Support:
    • Collaborate with local teams and advisors to ensure timely compliance with corporate tax requirements at group level.
    • Support senior leadership on global tax planning initiatives.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Recommend and implement improvements to consolidation and reporting processes.
    • Support ERP and financial systems optimization for better reporting and control.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive experience in finance, multi-entity group consolidation, and statutory reporting.
  • Proven expertise in GAAP and multi-currency accounting.
  • International operations and compliance experience.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong consolidation skills, knowledge of intercompany processes, and elimination adjustments.
    • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems.
  • Personal Skills:
    • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple countries and time zones.
    • Effective communicator with confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders.
