Our company is seeking a Loan Review Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

  • Review loan applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. Verify applicant details, such as income, employment, and credit history, using third-party databases, documents, or other sources. Conduct preliminary risk assessments to determine whether an application meets the necessary requirements for underwriting. Coordinate with applicants to collect missing or additional documents needed to support the application process.
  • Perform a preliminary review of the applicant's financial status, credit reports, and other documentation to ensure that it meets internal policies and risk tolerance levels. Ensure that all required documentation and forms are accurately completed and compliant with underwriting guidelines before submission to the underwriting team.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with internal teams (e.g., sales, operations, underwriting) and customers regarding application status, missing documents, or issues that need resolution. Input and manage data in the underwriting system, ensuring accurate and timely processing of applications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills to analyze financial data, credit reports, and applicant information to assess risk and suitability for underwriting. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple applications, documents, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of insurance, loan, or credit products, and the requirements for approval within those fields. Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to identify and address issues early in the application process, finding solutions to expedite the review process. Familiarity with underwriting systems and other office software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
