Loan Review and Underwriting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Loan Review and Underwriting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for reviewing and verifying loan applications and supporting documentation.

Your primary focus will be on analyzing loan risk and requesting additional information as necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.

You will work closely with Loan Set Up, Compliance Reviewers, Funders, Client Relationship Managers, and other operations staff to ensure smooth and efficient processing of all loans in the pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and verify loan applications and supporting documentation
  • Analyze loan risk and request additional information as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to process loans efficiently
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of recent US mortgage front-line underwriting experience (live loans) in residential real estate
  • Experience with compliance review/disclosures preparation/closing/doc preparation and/or due diligence in the residential mortgage industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of mortgage guidelines and policies for VA, FHA, FNMA, FHLMC & USDA
  • Experience analyzing and calculating qualifying income from various tax documents
  • Experience analyzing credit reports
