Job Title : Project Cost Controller

This is a key role that involves the management of costs across large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with budgets and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.

  • Project Cost Analysis and Control
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on project costs to ensure they are within budget.
  • Track costs across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Prepare detailed variance reports to identify causes of deviations between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Validate Petty Cash and Non-PO Based Expense of Projects, assess suppliers, manage advance payments, and utilize credit facilities effectively.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track progress, update percentage-of-completion calculations, and provide insights on cost performance, profit margins, and project cash flow.
  • Contract and Cost Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and financial regulations, validate costs against contract terms, and identify savings opportunities.
  • Inventory and Procurement Cost Management: Work with procurement to control and analyze material and service costs, minimize waste, and optimize inventory valuation.
  • Risk Management and Cost Optimization: Identify potential risks related to project costs and recommend strategies for cost reduction, such as value engineering or efficiency improvements.
  • Fixed Assets Management at Project Site: Track, record, and monitor fixed assets, oversee asset capitalization, depreciation calculations, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Financial Reporting and Forecasting: Prepare regular financial and cost reports, analyzing project expenses and forecasting costs for budgeting purposes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with IFRS 15, IFRS 9, IFRS 16, and IAS 16.
  • Understanding of EPC project lifecycle, cost drivers, and risks.
  • Familiarity with project management and accounting software (SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical skills in cost analysis, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to present cost information and insights effectively to management.
