About the TeamThe legal team at Paytm facilitates legal risk and compliance centrally, ensuring business activities are conducted in conformity with all applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
We serve as a liaison for local regulators and legal bodies, maintaining relationships with them, and ensuring local regulatory permissions for Paytm remain current and appropriate for business needs.
About the RoleThe major responsibilities of this role include being part of the legal Contracts team to ensure effective management of legal and contractual matters, identifying and mitigating legal risks for the organization.
You will be part of the legal team, assisting senior legal colleagues in special and upcoming projects under the e-commerce and fintech division of Paytm.
Responsibilities:- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing documents (NDAs, contracts, lending documentation, distribution contracts, loan agreements, collection service agreements, letters, etc.) from a legal perspective, ensuring minimal/no risk to the organization.
- Being well-versed with Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines Digital Lending, Outsourcing Guidelines, KYC, and other guidelines and circulars digital lending.
- Negotiating with external counterparts (third-party banks and financial institutions) on digital lending agreements.
- Identifying legal risks and researching applicable laws, including RBI guidelines concerning the development of new products.
- Helping to interpret changes to regulatory guidelines and updating contracts in line with changes in RBI guidelines, etc.
- Advising the business on day-to-day operational-related queries, etc.
- Liaising with various internal stakeholders (Business, Finance, Compliance, Infosec, DPO) to ensure timely closure of agreements and advising them on contractual mandates, etc.
- End-to-end legal management of signed business units.
- Liaising with internal/external audit teams to understand and close queries on legal contracts.
- Managing the internal contract tool and trackers.
