Job Description

We are seeking a skilled data cloud engineer to manage, optimize, and secure our data environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data administration, database management, performance tuning, security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Administration: Manage accounts, users, roles, and permissions following RBAC principles.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor query performance, optimize warehouses, and tune workloads to ensure efficient execution.
  • Data Management: Oversee databases, schemas, tables, and data pipelines.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including encryption, data masking, network policies, and audit logging.
  • Automation: Develop scripts for monitoring, alerting, and automating administrative tasks.
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Track warehouse utilization, storage, and query performance; identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Cost Optimization: Manage compute and storage costs by monitoring consumption and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Upgrades & Maintenance: Apply patches, monitor updates, and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Integration: Support integrations with ETL/ELT tools, BI platforms, and cloud services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of data features.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and integrations.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data security practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certification.
  • Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools.
  • Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk, or other monitoring tools.
