Key Role: Legal Counsel

About the Job

The Legal Counsel role at our organization requires a professional with strong legal knowledge and experience in providing comprehensive legal support. As part of our dynamic team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and safeguarding our commercial interests.

Key responsibilities include advising stakeholders on various legal matters, managing and overseeing litigation and arbitration matters, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and providing legal support and guidance on employment law matters.

Additionally, you will assist in briefing senior advocates/external counsel for urgent reliefs and prepare pleadings, applications, and replies for ongoing and new matters. You will also conduct legal research to develop arguments and prepare case law analysis for opinion writing and guide the direction of proceedings.

Key Challenges:

  • Navigating the complex and evolving regulatory landscape governing advertising, media, and entertainment industries.
  • Managing multiple, often interrelated, legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ensuring timely and efficient delivery of legal support while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Person Specification:

  • LL.B degree with 6-8 years post-qualification experience as an in-house lawyer or in law firms.
  • Experience in the Media & Entertainment or Information Technology industry is advantageous.
  • Diplomas in legal vocations/subjects such as advertising laws, media and entertainment, intellectual property rights, data privacy, or compliance are desirable.
