Developer Productivity Expert

About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Developer Productivity Expert to spearhead initiatives that elevate developer experience, accelerate release cycles, and build scalable internal platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and strategy, with a strong emphasis on crafting tools, frameworks, and platforms that directly impact developer velocity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Developer Productivity team, setting the vision and execution roadmap.
  • Design and develop internal tools/platforms that optimize CI/CD, testing frameworks, and infrastructure automation.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native solutions (Kubernetes, AWS, ephemeral environments, service monitoring tools).
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders to align developer experience initiatives with organizational goals and OKRs.
  • Champion best practices around continuous delivery, developer efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Mentor engineers, foster innovation, and build a culture of experimentation and learning.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years in software engineering with at least 3 years in platform/dev productivity roles.
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Spinnaker/Jenkins/ArgoCD, IaC.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, dynamic test selection, code quality gates.
  • Strong coding skills in Go, Python, or Java (Go preferred for tooling/frameworks).
  • Experience designing ephemeral environments, monitoring/observability tools.
  • Proven track record of leading small teams, mentoring engineers, and driving large-scale initiatives.
  • Strong communication and ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
