Job Description

We are seeking a skilled software repository professional to manage the integrity of our software repository.

This is a full-time contract position that can be worked from home. The candidate will be required to sign an agreement that includes a non-disclosure and non-compete clause.

Required Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in Linux and bash scripting with a strong understanding of system administration.
  • Expertise in C and Python programming languages with the ability to create complex software patches.
  • Knowledge of build system tools including autotools, meson, ninja, cmake, make, pkg-config, and scons.
  • Ability to compile and create software from source code with knowledge of GCC and its cflags and dflags prefixes.
  • Experience with patching, creating, and managing software patches.
  • Understanding of Makefiles and ability to create them as necessary.
  • Maintaining changelogs and other documentation.
  • Providing bug fixes and debugging with gdb if needed.
  • Reviewing changes.
  • Knowledge of CVS and Git with the ability to connect with upstream developers for solutions when needed.
Preferred Skill:

Candidates with experience in Slackware Linux will be prioritized over those with knowledge of Redhat or Debian.

Non-Technical Skills Required:
  • Fluent English language skills with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with capacity to resolve assigned tasks within specified timeframes and deadlines.
