Lab Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining lab instruments and tools, as well as fabricating cable harnesses using crimping and soldering techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of power systems used across labs (AC & DC) and be able to plan lab layouts for test benches and explore opportunities for space optimization. They will also be responsible for planning electrical and mechanical requirements of labs across sites and supporting the deployment of test benches.

The Lab Manager will work closely with product teams to understand overall test solution needs and map competitive landscapes, benchmark design and technology trends. They will also be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication.

The role requires a strong go-getter attitude, ability to navigate complex business scenarios, and excellent interpersonal skills, influencing and negotiation abilities. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain lab instruments and tools.
  • Fabricate cable harnesses using crimping and soldering techniques.
  • Plan lab layouts for test benches and explore opportunities for space optimization.
  • Plan electrical and mechanical requirements of labs across sites.
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand overall test solution needs.
  • Map competitive landscapes, benchmark design and technology trends.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of industry experience in lab management with hands-on experience in equipment calibration, testing, and maintenance.
  • Diploma or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple teams across organizations for coordination of lab upgrades and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of different kinds of cable harnesses and connectors.
  • Understanding of lab equipment, their functions, and input requirements.
  • Go-getter attitude and ability to navigate complex business scenarios.
  • Understanding of AC and DC power supply systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in test solutions.
