Electrical Design Engineer Job Overview

The role of an Electrical Design Engineer involves designing and developing electrical systems for a variety of applications. This includes distribution panels, lighting systems, and cable management.

A successful candidate will have strong technical skills and knowledge of electrical codes and practices. They should also be proficient in software tools like Dialux and Amtech.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design complex electrical projects including distribution panels, lighting systems, and cable management
  • Apply professional knowledge and experienced judgment to independently design projects
  • Have adequate knowledge in Electrical designs - Electrical Distribution Panels, Lighting, Cable management system, Outdoor lighting, Indoor lighting; Lux Level Calculations; load estimation; Voltage drop and short circuits calculations; ELV systems – Fire alarm, PAVA, CCTV, SCS
  • Have hands-on experience in using software tools like Dialux, Amtech
  • Have in-depth knowledge of NEC, CPWD international codes and practices
  • Be well conversant with estimation for RFP's
  • Be responsible in planning, scheduling, and coordinating the technical and management requirements
  • Effective communication & coordination in multi-disciplinary projects
  • Mentor - Guiding, training, knowledge, and skill development of Mechanical engineering staff
  • Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering from a recognized university with a minimum of 4-15 years of experience in consultant design, managing complex building services MEP Design - like high-rise buildings, commercial & residential, and Infrastructure
  • Master's degree holders are given preference
  • Effective management of team members for the projects
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with international clients and contractors is mandatory
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT-MEP, and Navisworks is an added advantage
