Strategic Contract Manager Role

We seek a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our contract management function, leveraging their expertise in international arbitration, operational risk mitigation, and commercial law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage international arbitration proceedings ensuring alignment with global legal standards and corporate interests.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial contracts from start to finish.
  • Review contracts from a legal and risk perspective ensuring compliance and enforceability.
  • Handle INCO terms, freight agreements, and vessel-related legal documentation effectively.
  • Review and manage legal claims including vessel claims and operational disputes efficiently.
  • Analyse potential liabilities and implement strategies for cost reduction and risk mitigation.
  • Provide legal support in procurement-related claims and negotiations.
  • Negotiate with clients, vendors, and third parties on contractual and legal matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including procurement, operations, and finance to ensure legal safeguards are in place.
  • Oversee litigation matters coordinate with external counsel and represent the company in legal forums as needed.
  • Develop and execute strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and favourably.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of post-qualification experience preferably in a large, listed manufacturing company.
  • Strong understanding of international arbitration maritime claims INCO terms, and commercial law.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and legal risk in a dynamic business environment.
