Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Contract Specialist to join our dynamic legal team. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in streamlining legal review of commercial agreements and increasing efficiency for revenue/sales.

Your primary responsibility will be to draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including NDAs, statements of work, master agreements, and data privacy agreements. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant contract records and building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders.

About the Role:

In this fast-paced environment, you will work closely with legal counsel and internal stakeholders, gaining exposure to a wide range of legal and business matters. Your attention to detail and proactive support will directly contribute to the legal team's ability to protect and empower the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and negotiate terms and conditions for commercial contracts according to internal guidelines.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company.
  • Develop and articulate creative solutions and draft alternative terms, working closely with attorneys.
  • Obtain approval for non-standard terms in accordance with internal policies.
  • Educate internal teams on contract terms and legal obligations.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A university-level degree or equivalent, with 4-6 years' experience negotiating legal terms & conditions with customers or vendors.
  • Training or education in law, paralegal skills, negotiation, or legal writing, including IAACM or similar certification.
  • Familiarity with media organizations is desirable.
  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
  • Experience working with commercial contract management and a good level of understanding of contract and commercial law.
  • Adept in using digital tools, document systems, and MS Office - particularly advanced skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
