IT Sourcing Strategist

Role Description:

As an IT sourcing strategist, you will play a pivotal role in driving business outcomes through effective collaboration and communication with key stakeholders and colleagues. Your primary responsibility will be to foster strong relationships with clients and suppliers to deliver defined business goals and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Relationship Management
  • Foster strong, collaborative relationships with clients and suppliers to drive engagement and meet client needs.
  • Develop and maintain key client stakeholder matrices to drive strategic engagement and optimize value.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure smooth operations and maximize value.
  • Act as the primary contact for IT category sourcing initiatives, leveraging expertise in sub-categories such as hardware, software, SaaS, and network services.
  1. Sourcing Planning
  • Analyze spend and contracts to identify opportunities for cost reduction and implement efficient sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop and implement IT sourcing plans that meet global and regional business needs.
  1. Management of Sourcing Initiatives
  • Lead and execute IT sourcing projects from end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality service.
  • Deliver allocated savings targets by effectively managing sourcing initiatives and tracking progress.
  • Ensure compliance with defined sourcing policies and processes.
  • Maintain the highest level of ethics in supplier and client engagements.
  1. Sourcing Support
  • Provide subject matter expertise and solutions to support client engagements and pitches.
  • Support project planning and execution across multiple clients and environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • University degree in economics, supply management, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Additional sourcing/procurement certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong English language skills and proficiency in Simplified Chinese is preferred.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 12-15 years' experience in strategic sourcing, preferably in an international environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence decisions and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Proven experience in sourcing and contracting, particularly in IT infrastructure products and services.
  • Deep understanding of license models, service models, and IT applications and infrastructure.
  • Strong negotiation and contract knowledge with experience working with third-party IT vendors.
  • Project management and tendering experience.
