Job Role:

  • Maintain high-performance SQL Server databases with extensive experience in installation, upgrade, and migration.
  • Apply critical patches and service packs to ensure optimal server functionality.
  • Configure High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Implement automated alert systems for prompt issue notification.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents, change tickets, and problem tickets with expertise.
  • Setup and manage maintenance plans for backups, database integrity checks, and index optimization.
  • Resolve locking issues, including deadlocks, blocking, and lock timeouts.
  • Collaborate on bridge calls to resolve severe incidents and optimize server performance.
  • Develop hands-on expertise in Always On and Database Mirroring technologies.
  • Execute database schema changes and maintain a controlled development environment.
  • Work closely with application developers to test, configure, and optimize servers based on application demands.
  • Deploy database objects to Integration, QA, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Provide daily support for high OLTP HA of SQL Server databases, identifying root causes and working with developers to resolve production problems.
  • Perform performance tuning tasks, including creating missing indexes.
  • Be willing to work in 24X7 projects and possess scripting skills using Perl and PowerShell.
  • Have experience in AWS and Azure platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 6-12 years of experience in MSSQL Database Administration.
  • Hands-on experience in Always On and Database Mirroring.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Perl and PowerShell.
  • Experience in AWS and Azure.
  • Ability to work in 24X7 projects.
