Operational Excellence Professional

Our organization is seeking an accomplished Manufacturing Transformation professional to join our mission to drive ongoing improvement and operational excellence across all manufacturing sites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing a standard world-class manufacturing framework, working with key business stakeholders to build an environment of continuous improvement, and identifying opportunities for process enhancements. They will also be responsible for coaching and facilitating teams and individuals to identify and implement improvement opportunities, as well as managing cross-functional teams and ensuring ongoing learning and development of all employees in Lean improvement tools and communication methods.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about driving change and improving processes, and who has exceptional analytical, project and product management skills. The ideal candidate will have a good honors degree in a relevant engineering discipline, excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, and value stream mapping, and experience in designing or implementing a framework of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement the standard world-class manufacturing framework across all plants.
• Work with other team members and business services departments to devise new support materials based on revised processes, including training, reporting, and systems enhancements.
• Actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance.
• Ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported on, and managed at all times.
• Set up a program, deliver coaching, and run projects across plants.
• Complete post-implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects.
• Continuous improvement of efficiency KPIs in the manufacturing sites.
• Implementation of Lean methods to increase efficiency, throughput, and operational excellence.
• Support plant teams in benchmarking, solutions, problem-solving, and continuous improvement programs.
• Support the operation in the design, development, and implementation of policy deployment within the business. Cascading KPIs and KRAs at all business levels.
• Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks in the department.
• Ensure relevant ongoing learning and development of all employees in Lean improvement tools and communication methods.
• Coach and facilitate teams and individuals to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
• Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of partners, senior managers, and subject matter experts.

Desirable Skills:

• Good honors degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, and value stream mapping.
• Strong analytical, project, and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements.
• Ability to set up, facilitate, and lead service improvement/workshops with a range of business stakeholders (including experience in process/value stream mapping).
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• An end-to-end coordinator taking accountability for ideas from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success.
• Experience in designing or implementing a framework of continuous improvement.
• Experience in hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions.
