Job Description

The Senior Data Architect will play a pivotal role in driving our organization's data strategy forward. This highly skilled professional will be responsible for selecting and integrating Big Data tools and frameworks, developing and maintaining data pipelines, translating technical requirements into detailed designs, and serving as a mentor to junior staff.

  • Oversee the integration of any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities
  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines implementing ETL processes, monitor performance, and advise on necessary infrastructure changes
  • Translate complex technical and functional requirements into comprehensive designs
  • Investigate and analyze alternative solutions to data storing, processing, etc., to ensure streamlined approaches are implemented
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff by conducting technical training sessions and reviewing project outputs
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data warehousing and data modeling techniques, with proficient knowledge of distributed computing principles including Hadoop v2, MapReduce, and HDFS. A solid foundation in GCP cloud platforms such as Airflow, Cloud Composer, Data Fusion, Data Flow, Data Proc, and Big Query is also essential.

  • Strong data engineering skills on GCP cloud platforms
  • Experience with building stream-processing systems using Storm or Spark-Streaming
  • Good knowledge of Big Data querying tools such as Pig, Hive, and Impala
  • Experience with Spark, SQL, and Linux
  • Knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks such as Flume, Apache NiFi, or DBT
  • Experience with various messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
