Senior Model Strategist

The primary goal of the Senior Model Strategist is to oversee the development and implementation of wholesale risk models, ensuring their accuracy and effectiveness in predicting potential losses. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in Statistics and Mathematics, as well as significant experience in banking and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and validate Corporate/Wholesale Rating Models, including Large Corporate, Mid Corporate, SME, Sovereign, FI, HNWI, Project Finance, and Specialized Lending.
  • Explore new approaches for rating model development for low default portfolios.
  • Master Rating Scale (MRS) calibration.
Model Monitoring:
  • Determine the expected performance of the respective models on historical data.
  • Implement monitoring tools to continuously assess model performance, including input data quality and predictions.
  • Communicate the model performance to relevant stakeholders to ensure prompt attention to potential problems.
Data Management:
  • Lead end-to-end data lifecycle management for model development, including sourcing, profiling, transformation, and documentation.
Requirements:
  • At least 4-5 years of banking experience, with 1-2 years in related areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge on Financial Risk Management.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in R, Python, SAS, Excel, Visual Basic, SQL, and Oracle.
  • Postgraduate or professional qualification in risk management or finance, such as CFA, FRM, PRM.
  • Experience developing teams in a multi-jurisdictional and matrixed organization.
